Rejoice with us!JohnCroylBobBoernerBrodieCroyl

25 years ago a group of men met at Gibson’s BBQ on South Memorial Pkwy to engage in Bible study and prayer for the expressed purpose of launching a YBL chapter in Huntsville, Alabama.   During the early years, YBL Huntsville was led by a group of committed businessmen until there was adequate support and interest to hire a full-time Director.  Today, we are humbly-grateful for the men who have come along side this ministry—both then and now—who have sacrificed their time and treasures in order to establish a ministry to reach men for Christ in the business community.

This year, 2014, YBL Huntsville celebrates God’s faithfulness in establishing and sustaining this ministry that we estimate has ministered to over 12,000 attendees in the past 25 years!  This year—we proclaim God’s great faithfulness to this ministry as we give thanks to Him and to those who have so generously supported YBL through their prayers and finances!   For all of this—our hearts rejoice!!   “I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.  Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices,” (Psalm 16:9-10).

A Surrendered Life

I can think of no greater way to celebrate God’s abundant grace to this ministry than to challenge those who are (and who have been) a part of this ministry to greater devotion to the One who has established it!  The Apostle Paul challenges his readers in the Book of Romans to respond to God’s grace and mercy by living a surrendered life…”Therefore, I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice—acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship,” (Rom. 12:1).   The greatest response we can offer Christ for laying Huntsville004down His life for us—is to offer our lives completely back to Him!  There is only one adequate response to grace—it is to live a surrendered life for Christ!

Over the years, YBL has had a few repeat speakers—one of those is Pat Morley—successful businessman, author, and President of Man in the Mirror Ministries.  I will never forget Pat’s words on this subject when he told us, “The irony of Christian surrender is that it ends not in defeat—but true spiritual victory!”   It is true that we find our lives when we lose them in Him!   Let me encourage you to do just that—surrender your life to Him—again, and again, and again.  He is our life—and we find it as we devote ourselves to Him in a life of surrender and devotion.

Ministry Matters

We have our Spring Luncheon set for Friday, April 4th with Russ Crosson, President and CEO of the Ronald Blue & Co.   Please pray with us and for the men who will be in attendance!  I know God will use Russ in a powerful way!  Finally, let me express my gratitude to God for His faithfulness to this ministry, as well as, my thankfulness to you for your generosity towards us—your financial gifts are a huge part of God’s blessings to us—let me humbly say—“thank you!!”
