“I can safely say, on the authority of all that is revealed in the Word of God, that any man or woman on this earth who is bored and turned off by worship is not ready for heaven.”

– A. W. Tozer
How is your worship? No, I’m not talking about how your Sunday church service went. No, I’m not talking about your quiet time. What I am talking about is the lifestyle of worship we are called to live out every day as a result of the saving work of Christ in our lives. It is not something that we do, it is something that we are becoming as we stand in awe of a holy God every day.

There are times in my life when I become bored or turned off toward worship. I find that when this happens, I have spent way too much time focused on me and not the Lord. Following are a couple of my favorite Bible passages that remind me of the many reasons I have to worship. Take a few minutes and read them and maybe make a few notes of all of the reasons that we have to worship. In the next few days, absorb the them deep into your soul and put them somewhere where you will see them often. This list helps me come back to this beautiful lifestyle of worship that the Lord desires for me. Also, remember that the earthly lives that we live right now give us a great place to practice something that we will do for eternity in Heaven! Practice well!

1 Chronicles 16:23-31

23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth!
Tell of his salvation from day to day.
24 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous works among all the peoples!
25 For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and he is to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols,
but the Lord made the heavens.
27 Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and joy are in his place.

28 Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!
29 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come before him!
Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness;
30     tremble before him, all the earth;
yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved.
31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice,
and let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!”

Revelation 4:8-11

Each of the four living creatures had six wings; they were covered with eyes around and inside. Day and night they never stop, saying:

Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God, the Almighty,
who was, who is, and who is coming.

Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the One seated on the throne, the One who lives forever and ever, 10 the 24 elders fall down before the One seated on the throne, worship the One who lives forever and ever, cast their crowns before the throne, and say:

11 Our Lord and God,
You are worthy to receive
glory and honor and power,
because You have created all things,
and because of Your will
they exist and were created.
