A former University of Alabama Football Player, John is the father of former NFL quarterback Brodie Croyle. John was a defensive end for the Univ. of Alabama’s 1973 National Championship Team under “Bear” Bryant. In 1974, on the advice of Coach Bryant, John declined opportunities to play in the NFL to pursue his dream of helping children in need. John and his wife, Tee, have seen their vision of the “best children’s homes” grow into the Big Oak Boys’ Ranch, the Big Oak Girls’ Ranch, and the Westbrook Christian School. John’s family, including his son, Brodie (now retired from the NFL), run Big Oak Ranch.
