Everywhere you turn you see people that are stressed out. You can see it on their faces and hear it in their voices. Job and financial situations, family and marriage struggles, even everyday life is filled with stress these days. The times that we are living in brings added stress with lots of unrest going on around us and the reminder that we are still living in a pandemic.

God’s Word speaks to managing stress by leaning into our relationship with Jesus. Following are a few verses that will speak to you about the stress that you might be experiencing:

Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Psalm 55:22

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Proverbs 12:25

Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.

Psalm 118:5-6

Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

Matthew 11:28-30

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

I am including a blog that I read earlier this week that also has some great reminders about managing stress in a healthy way:

If you find yourself stressed out, take a few minutes and admit it. Don’t try to press through and handle it by yourself. You can’t and you were not designed to. Read and pray the verses
