The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”  Prov. 16:9

During the COVID 19 Pandemic, one of the things I’ve noticed is–few things seem to go as planned…at least not according to my plans!  And the new word I’m learning to embrace, as it relates to organizational matters, is “pivot.”

Pivot— to turn or to cause to turn in place…to change the direction or course.

Leaders lead!  Leaders make plans!  But it seems that many of the plans I’ve made during this Pandemic have had to change, and change is difficult for all of us—especially when we have become accustomed to doing things a certain way!   When our plans are blocked—then we have a choice: either complain and give up or learn a new-creative way to accomplish the task!

Having our plans frustrated is…well…frustrating!  But these experiences do create opportunities for us to trust God and to look to Him for His provision!  So, road- blocks can be our friends when they cause us to look to God more often and learn to new ways of accomplishing our tasks!

During this season, we need to be reminded that God is in control and that we can learn to enjoy His presence and His provision by looking to Him and by pivoting—by changing!  So, rather than drown in our frustration—let’s be reminded to trust God to provide all that we need as we learn to enjoy change!
