Tell us about your job: I am a wedding planner based in Birmingham, Alabama. I have worked in the industry for 7 years and have owned my own business for 4 years. My business offers many different planning options for each bride. I offer full service planning, month of coordination, consulting and other wedding event services.
What do you enjoy most about your job? I love building relationships with my clients and other wedding vendors. I also enjoy the design aspect of planning a wedding. Taking a bride’s vision and seeing it come together on her wedding day is something I strive to excel at and learn more about. There is always some new trend or idea to bring to any wedding day.
Briefly tell us how you got started in your career: I got started in the world of wedding planning while in college at Samford University. Throughout my Junior and Senior years, I worked for Kalee Baker Events as a wedding day assistant. Kalee taught me all about wedding planning and I fell in love with the process, the relationship building and of course the events themselves. After I graduated from Samford, I did my first solo wedding and have never looked back since.
What is your favorite way to unwind after a busy week? After a busy week I love to hang out at home, watch my favorite shows and have a good meal on Fridays and Saturdays. Sundays, I make a point to not do/schedule any work, so I can focus on keeping the Sabbath and getting ready for the week ahead. Rest is something I make sure to get a lot of, since my weeks are packed with work and each month I have at least 1-2 weddings on the weekends.
Where do you attend church? I attend Briarwood Presbyterian Church. I have gone there since I was born and have built a wonderful community of other believers through my small group and Sunday School class.
Share your Life Verse or favorite inspirational quote: My life verse is Lamentations 3:22-23 “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” I love this verse because it continually reminds me to trust that the LORD will always provide. Each day is a new challenge, but He is there showing me His mercy every step of the way. I have seen Him provide for me in so many ways over the last 4 years and continually thank Him for where He has placed me in my business and life.
Tell us about your family: I was born and raised in Birmingham, AL. My parents are Wes Cline (Dr. Wade & Anita Cline) & Lynn Head Cline (Gene & Barbara Head). I have 3 siblings: Wesley, Barbara, & Wade. My brother Wesley is 9 years older than me and has been married to his wife Courtney (Lee) for 3 years. My sister Barbara is 7 ½ years older than me and is married to Chris Lindsey; they have 3 kids: Hallie (17), John Andrew (9) & Sam (7). Barbara and Chris have been married for 10 years. Wade is my younger brother by 14 months and is getting married in May to his fiancé Olivia Murphy. My family is big, loud, fun, and we love spending time together. We are getting bigger and bigger as the years go by and I can’t imagine it any other way.
Lastly, tell us what you love about Women Business Leaders: I love WBL because it provides a space for women in the business world to find encouragement and like-minded friendships. It can be hard to navigate how to live out your faith in a world that seems so divided spiritually. Being a part of an organization that encourages women to pursue their professional careers, as well as teaching how to impact our co-workers for Christ is refreshing!
